David Manica

President, Manica Architecture

Manica’s two major league projects are some of the most controversial in sports from a political standpoint. It’s no surprise that both projects are in California, a state playing catch-up in sports development. In San Francisco, Manica is the principal designer of Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors’ arena project, which faces opposition from residents who favor preserving the downtown waterfront. In San Diego, the Chargers retained Manica to design a stadium and convention center expansion after the team’s proposal to share a stadium with the Oakland Raiders in suburban Los Angeles fell through in January. Overseas, Manica Architecture designed VTB Arena in Moscow, a combined arena and stadium complex scheduled to open in 2018.
