Few sports construction executives have the experience to match Johnson’s portfolio. Over the past 20 years, Johnson has been Hunt’s lead for managing construction of arena and stadium projects across the big leagues. He’s worked on six MLB venues alone, dating to Comerica Park. Johnson’s expertise extends to retractable roofs, a process that can be tricky because of the intricate engineering tied to those enormous structures. His current work covers three movable roof projects: Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium and retrofits at the U.S. Tennis Association’s Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium. Separately, Johnson is overseeing the installation of a roof canopy at the Miami Dolphins’ stadium, the key piece for the team’s attempt to get the Super Bowl back to South Florida. Out West, Hart managed construction of T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and now manages the makeover of Arizona State’s Sun Devil Stadium and upgrades to Oregon State’s Reser Stadium. Hoberg stands at the front end of development as the dealmaker, pursuing jobs for a top builder of sports facilities.
