Principal, AECOM

AECOM’s shining star is Golden 1 Center, the new $477 million arena it designed for the Sacramento Kings that opens in October. But the firm’s strength lies mostly in the college space. Terrill is designing a new football stadium for Temple University, a premium seat tower replacement for East Carolina’s football stadium, and upgrades to West Virginia’s arena, among other projects. Niemuth, leader of AECOM’s sports practice, has spent 21 years at the company dating to the former Ellerbe Becket. His current projects include retrofits to college arenas at Clemson, Houston and Illinois, plus improvements to Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte and the design of the Boston Celtics’ new basketball training facility.
