AFL coming to Washington

At the welcome event for the yet-to-be-named Washington, D.C., Arena Football League team at Verizon Center on March 16: Tampa Bay Storm president and NFL hall of famer Derrick Brooks, Monumental Sports & Entertainment founder and majority owner Ted Leonsis, and L.A. Hunter-Reay, Indy in D.C.

Verizon IndyCar Series driver Ryan Hunter-Reay met with House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin while touring the U.S. Capitol on March 22 with the Borg-Warner Trophy, given to the winner of the Indianapolis 500. Hunter-Reay made the rounds as part of IndyCar’s marketing push around the 100th running of the 500 this May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
