Forty Under 40: What's your favorite vacation spot?

We asked each of the Forty Under 40:

What’s your favorite vacation spot?

Hawaii was a popular vacation destination among Forty Under 40 executives.

Ken Babby: Lanai, Hawaii: a small island off the coast of Maui. The beauty, culture and people on that magical island never fail to recharge me, bringing me back and energizing me for a new year. It has become an end-of-season ritual for me; a reset.

Kim Beauvais: St. Thomas: simply beautiful. The food is amazing, the people are incredible, and the drinks go down easy.

Yu-Han Chang: Yellowstone National Park. It’s probably the most unique place in the world.

Aaron Cohen: Anywhere warm and sunny with my family.

Russ D’Souza: Cartagena, Colombia. I went there for New Year’s and thought it was incredible.

Shannon Dan: Sea Isle City, N.J., because it means relaxing on the beach and walking on the boardwalk, ice cream trips, and long bike rides with the most important people in my life: my mom, my two older brothers and our families.

Adam Davis: Riviera Maya: My wife and I on a beach in paradise recharging the battery.

Kevin Demoff: Maui. (Should not need explanation.)

Anthony DiCosmo: The Jersey shore, where my entire extended family spends weekends in the summer.

Hymie Elhai: Anywhere where I can visit a historic stadium or arena.

Jaime Faulkner: WaterColor Inn and Resort, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.

Todd Fischer: Anywhere warm with my wife and kids.

David Greenspan: Big Sur, Calif. Unparalleled scenery and terrible cell service.

Al Guido: The Jersey shore. (Go figure: A guy with the last name of Guido saying the Jersey shore.)

Christopher Halpin: U.S.: Boca Grande, Fla. So relaxing, easy with kids, lots of activities. Worldwide: Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand. Hotel, food, setting, course — extraordinary.

Rob Higgins: Lawrence, Kan. My wife played basketball there. Being a college hoops family like we are, it’s an awesome vacation.

Jamie Horowitz: Nantucket is our favorite family summer adventure.

Amy Huchthausen: Cape Cod. I bought a house there more than a year ago and love that I can go any time I want.

Charlie Hussey: Montana Bitterroots, for its trout streams.

Zaileen Janmohamed: My family goes to Hawaii every year. My favorite spot, period, is probably Provence, France.

Brian Kopp: Disney World, because my kids find something new to love during every visit.

Patrick Kraft: Anywhere there is sunshine, a beach and a beverage.

Geoff Lester: Portofino, Italy, because it will be where my wife and I spend our first real vacation without the kids (next spring).

Chris Marinak: Montauk. Great escape and not too far from the city.

Kevin McSherry: Disneyland, with my wife and daughter.

Bill Mulvihill: The Greek Islands, as that is where my wife and I spent our honeymoon.

Colin Neville: St. John, USVI. I have gone every year for the last six years to celebrate the New Year with my best friends.

Troup Parkinson: Harbour Island, Bahamas. Very low key, great people, great food, great beaches and lots of golf carts.

Dana Rosenberg: St. Regis, Punta Mita, Mexico (not coincidentally: a Starwood resort).

Richard Rubano: Vallata, Italy: my mother’s hometown. Not only is it beautiful, but every trip there is a reminder of the courage it took for my mother to leave everything behind and come to America, and how proud I am of who she is and what she has accomplished.

Paul Saville: It’s not exotic, but anywhere in our family camper van. There usually isn’t much phone reception, and we always have so much fun.

Connor Schell: Breckenridge. Everyone is active, having fun and enjoying the outdoors.

Chris Schlosser: Coast of Maine. My kind of place.

Russell Silvers: The St. Regis Princeville Resort in Kaua’i, Hawaii. The location is absolutely breathtaking, and the slow-paced lifestyle is perfect to decompress and recharge.

Julie Sobieski: Bermuda.

Ryan Tollner: Hawaii. Any trip to Hawaii never seems to fail.

David Weiss: Downeast Maine. There’s lots to do outdoors and it still has the same relaxed pace as it did when I was growing up.

Amy Yakola: Annual August vacation trip with my entire family. We rotate locations/destination, but it’s always the best spot because everyone is there (parents, siblings, all of our families).

Mike Zavodsky: Short-term/weekend trip: Miami — short flight, good scene, great restaurants. Extended trip: Fiji — totally disconnected, ultimate relaxation.

Tim Zulawski: Maldives. The most beautiful beaches, and totally unconnected.
