Shanks preached patience when FS1 launched to tiny ratings in its first year. His patience was rewarded this past year, as the all-sports channel saw big ratings gains, fueled by Fox’s coverage of the Women’s World Cup and golf’s U.S. Open. The channel has been making headlines with its studio shows as well, having poached Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock from ESPN and setting up a deal with TMZ Sports.
