What I Like …

An insight: Versatility makes you more valuable.

An influential person in my career: There are so many it would be unfair to name just one. To all those who believed in me and those who gave me a chance to pursue my dream, and to those who doubted me and made me work even harder.

A timeless idea: Don’t be a diva. Be nice to all. Is that so hard to do?

A business deal: The SEC on CBS. They got together at a perfect time.

A sports facility: AT&T Stadium in

Tracy Wolfson
Sideline reporter, CBS Sports

What I do:
I’m the lead sideline reporter for CBS Sports, covering “Thursday Night Football” and NFL on CBS, and college basketball, including March Madness and the Final Four. I’m also one of the hosts of CBS Sports Network’s all-women’s sports talk show, “We Need to Talk.”

Where I’m From: Grew up in Congers, N.Y. I currently live in Bergen County, N.J.

Where I Went to School: The University of Michigan, B.A. in communications.

My First Job: In high school I did paperwork for a kidney doctor. In college I was a bartender at Rick’s in Ann Arbor. After graduation, my first job was as a researcher for CBS Sports.

Dallas. Total fan experience, and seeing yourself on that massive screen makes you feel larger than life.

A sports event: March Madness and the Final Four — total chaos.

A brand: Under Armour.

A trend: NBA signature shoes.

An innovation: Twitter. I love it but also hate it at times.

A story that bears watching: How Jim Harbaugh is turning around the University of Michigan football team (Go Blue).

An idea or invention I wish I had thought of: Face Time. Makes being away from kids a little easier. I can see them, talk to them, do homework with them, say goodnight to them and blow them a kiss. It’s amazing.

A fantasy job: Broadway star. I don’t have the talent for it but always wished I did.

What I Like About …

My job: The interviews. Trying to ask a question that elicits a great response.

Sports: The passion, the traditions, the emotions, the ever-changing storylines week to week and, of course, the unpredictability.

Sports fans: Sports can’t survive without them … they truly are the 6th man, the 12th man. They set the scene, bring the atmosphere to the game. But they can be harsh at times.

What I Would like to …

Change: Airline travel. It’s a painful experience every week.

Change in what I do: Really don’t like doing losing interviews!

See: The time when we don’t have to mention that she’s a woman in sports. When it becomes a norm.

See more of in sports: Role models. You can never have too many.

See less of in sports: Student athletes leaving too early for the next level. I think a college experience is invaluable.

Eliminate: Carry-on luggage size restrictions. Hard to fit clothes for two games and five days in a carry-on bag that size.

What I Don’t Like …

In general: Twitter trolls. But I love the “block” button.

Pet peeve: Knuckle cracking.

In sports: Career-ending injuries

PERSONAL

What I Like …

That would surprise those that know me: I can’t make a decision for my life, whether at restaurants, shopping or buying gifts … it’s painful.

People: Those who are trustworthy, reliable, selfless, genuine and fun.

Above all else: My parents and my boys. My husband, Dave, and my sons, Dylan, Ari and Evan.

Possession: My wedding ring. It reminds me how lucky I am to have the support I do from my husband.

Memento: Picture of my kids at their first Michigan game.

Time of year: Summer. My break from work where I get a chance to spend time with my family, catch up with friends and just relax.

Music: Top hits. I’m a sucker for a catchy tune that I can sing in the car, at the gym or in the shower.

Magazines: I love InStyle to see the trends in fashion and also enjoy any modern home magazine.

Gadgets: Chargers. Can never have enough with these iPhones!

Apps: Save to Pocket: The best app out there to save articles and read without Wi-Fi. TeamSnap: Genius app for your child’s sports teams’ scheduling and games. On the Fly: Best airline booking app out there. Makes my travel scheduling much easier.

Hobbies: Watching my kids’ games, playing board games or cards with them. Playing tennis and golf and traveling for pleasure.

Bravo’s “Odd Mom Out”
Photo: BRAVO
Trips: My honeymoon in Thailand, Atlantis and Disney with the kids. South Africa, Australia and Israel are on my list. Hoping to hit Spain this summer.

Movies: “Rudy,” “E.T.,” “The Sound of Music,” anything with Adam Sandler, and “The Shawshank Redemption.” Right now I’m loving the “Pitch Perfect” movies.

TV: “Seinfeld,” “Friends,” now “Modern Family.” “Odd Mom Out” on Bravo was fun this past year, and

“Orange Is the New Black.”

Concerts: Michael Jackson and Madonna were two of the best I have ever seen live.

Food: I exercise so I can eat french fries. Sushi is a distant second.

Dessert: Häagen-Dazs Java Chip ice cream with chocolate crunch on it.

Cars: My first was a red VW Cabriolet, so I have always loved little convertibles, but I’m a soccer mom, so a Ford Explorer it is.
