Deal would extend NBA RSN trend

The Nets’ new deal with YES Network would be the latest example of an NBA team’s RSN deal increasing in price.

The Lakers signed a 20-year, $3 billion deal with TWC SportsNet in 2011 that stands as the league’s biggest local deal. The Cavaliers signed a deal with Fox Sports last fall for between $35 million and $38 million a year.

Fox Sports has run into a snag with the other team in Los Angeles, though. The Clippers’ deal ends after the 2015-16 season and the team has taken its rights into the open market. The two sides remain far apart on price, with sources saying that the team is looking for a deal that would pay it as much as $100 million a year.
