Baseball
The Arizona Diamondbacks named newly elected hall of famer Randy Johnson a special assistant to the team president and chief executive officer.

The Kansas City Royals restructured their baseball operations department after the retirement of vice president and assistant general manager Dean Taylor. J.J. Picollo was promoted to vice president and assistant general manager for player personnel and Rene Francisco to vice president and assistant general manager for major league and international operations. The team also named Scott Sharp assistant general manager for baseball operations, Jin Wong assistant general manager for baseball administration, Kyle Vena director of baseball administration, Chino Cadahia senior coordinator for player development, Ronnie Richardson director of minor league operations, Mike Groopman director of baseball operations for analytics, John Williams director of baseball analytics for player personnel, Daniel Mack director of baseball analytics for research science, Chris Getz baseball operations assistant for player development, Phillip Stringer baseball operations assistant and Nick Relic minor league video coordinator.

The San Diego Padres hired Matt Coy as senior director of game day presentation. Coy was director of event presentation for the Dallas Cowboys and AT&T Stadium.

The independent Frontier League’s Gateway Grizzlies promoted Alex Wilson to assistant general manager.

Basketball
The NBA promoted Dan Rube to executive vice president and deputy general counsel.

The Atlanta Dream hired Travis Watkins as manager of ticket operations. Watkins was assistant director of ticket operations at the University of Miami.

Colleges
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock named Chasse Conque athletic director. Conque was senior director of development for the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Medical Center.

The University of Maryland hired Joe Foley as deputy athletic director for intercollegiate athletics development. Foley was director for athletic major giving at Boston College.

West Virginia University hired Shane Lyons as athletic director and associate vice president. Lyons was deputy athletic director at the University of Alabama.

Eastern Michigan University hired Jennifer Brown as associate athletic director for sports medicine. Brown was associate athletic trainer at Northwestern University.

Central Michigan University named Cristy Freese a senior associate athletic director. Freese was field hockey coach.

Portland State University named Mark Rountree athletic director. Rountree was deputy athletic director at Miami University.

Marketing
The Aspire Group promoted A.J. Tomeny to director of sales and service at the University of Maryland and Brandon Lopez to manager at the University of California, Riverside.

Learfield Sports promoted Pam Batalis to regional vice president for the East region, Megan Eisenhard and Mike McCollum to regional vice presidents for the West region and Dan Hawley to regional vice president for the South region.
