If the past two years was about amassing sports rights, where in many cases Fox helped drive up the market, this was the year Freer and Shanks put those rights to work for the cable channel Fox Sports 1 and streaming service Fox Sports Go. As part of the strategy, MLB playoffs brought the cable channel its highest ratings yet.
