AutoTrader renews with NBA, returns as TNT’s ‘Tip-Off’ sponsor

AutoTrader.com has renewed its sponsorship ties with the NBA, a deal that, as usual, includes a large buy on league rights holder TNT.

SBJ Podcast:
NBA writer John Lombardo and Assistant Managing Editor Tom Stinson discuss how the Cavs are handling LeBron James' return from a business perspective, as well as how the NBA's new breed of GM could change the game.

Under the deal, Autotrader returns as presenting sponsor of TNT’s “NBA Tip-Off” for the 10th consecutive season, as well as for all NBA TV pregame shows. For the NBA’s opening week, the brand will be presenting sponsor of the “NBA on TNT Premiere Week.”

Turner is producing a new digital feature and TV show commemorating AutoTrader’s 10 years. The series will provide fans with a look back at some of the best moments from the past decade of “NBA Tip-Off,” the popular pregame show featuring Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal.

A new charitable overlay will see Johnson, Barkley, O’Neal and Smith select players they believe will excel each week. The analyst with the highest score at the end of the season — based on total points, assists and rebounds — will donate an AutoTrader.com car to charity.
