CSN Philadelphia enters partnership with suburban newspapers
Published November 21, 2011, Page 4
The pact involves CSNPhilly.com providing news coverage of the area’s professional sports teams for phillyburbs.com. Phillyburbs.com will lead high school sports coverage for CSNPhilly.com and help develop a high school sports show set to debut this winter on the Comcast Network. The show will feature writers from The Bucks County [Pa.] Courier-Times, The Doylestown [Pa.] Intelligencer and the Burlington County [N.J.] Times.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but the two companies will participate in a revenue-sharing agreement based on advertising for the co-branded content areas. Both CSN Philadelphia and Calkins Media will sell against the shared properties.
“This is something where I could definitely foresee this structure going to scale and being a future business model for our other [CSN] markets,” said Todd Berman, Comcast SportsNet senior director of digital media.
