PGA Tour stop at Disney gives fans VIP food options

This week’s PGA Tour stop at Disney is attempting to bring the VIP experience from its restaurant properties to the fans at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.

For an additional $30 pass, on top of the $10 daily general admission ticket, fans can eat from all of the food options offered within the tournament’s Wine and Dine Walk, a series of tents being set up along the practice putting green on Disney’s Magnolia course.

Inside, fans will have access to food and drink prepared by some of Disney’s notable brands, including the Contemporary Resort, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Yacht & Beach Club Resort, BoardWalk Inn and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Last year, the Wine and Dine Walk was spread out around the course, which created a walking tour of golf and food. This is the first time all of those food options have been put in one location near the clubhouse, creating a one-stop shop for Disney food and drink.

The food options will range from high-end lobster rolls and crab cakes to BLT sandwiches, bratwurst, chicken and shrimp, all of which can be sampled for the all-in $30 pass. If fans don’t want to pay $30 to eat from all five of the brands, they can buy the food a la carte, with items ranging from $4 to $7 each. The food items are paired with a suggested wine.

The differentiator from other events, according to tournament chairman Kevin Weickel, is that this type of experience is usually reserved for high-priced chalets and skyboxes at golf tournaments.

“It’s not a VIP tent or a high-dollar ticket. It’s something that any fan can take advantage of,” Weickel said.
