Former IMG executive Steve Kerepesi has been hired to run sponsorship sales for the new Pac-12 Enterprises, which encompasses the conference’s national and regional TV networks, digital properties and corporate relationships.
Gary Stevenson, the newly appointed chief executive of Pac-12 Enterprises, hired Kerepesi last week and said his experience from sponsorship sales at IMG played in his favor. While at IMG, Kerepesi also worked on WTA sponsorships, including the Sony Ericsson account when Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott ran the women’s tennis business.
“Steve will be responsible for all corporate relationships,” Stevenson said. “We’re going to be able to offer some integrated opportunities across all of our platforms, from live events to digital, national TV and regional TV.”
Most of the Pac-12’s sponsorship inventory will revolve around its championship events.
Stevenson is in the process of searching for a chief revenue officer and for executives who will specialize in advertising on the TV networks and digital, as well as affiliate sales and marketing for the TV networks.
Kerepesi is expected to start next week. He is relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area, close to the Pac-12’s headquarters in Walnut Creek, Calif.
