People: MLB, union announce moves, promotions

Baseball
Major League Baseball moved Joe Garagiola Jr. to senior vice president of standards and on-field operations and Randy Marsh and Rich Rieker to directors of umpiring.

The Major League Baseball Players Association promoted Timothy Slavin to director of business affairs and licensing and senior counsel for business, Richard White to general manager of business affairs, media and international, Evan Kaplan to director of licensing and business development and Nancy Willis to director of retail development and apparel.

Little League International hired Bartlomiej Sochacki as assistant director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.

The collegiate summer Prospect League’s Slippery Rock Sliders hired Robert Dills as general manager. Dills was a sales account representative for the Washington Redskins.

Basketball
The Denver Nuggets moved Dan Tolzman to scouting coordinator and hired Nick O’Hayre as media relations manager. O’Hayre was a public relations assistant for the Golden State Warriors.

The New Orleans Hornets hired Joe Kramer as new business development executive. Kramer was a ticket sales associate for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.

Texas State University promoted Laurie Hindson to assistant athletic director and director of the athletic academic center.

The University of New Haven hired Jennifer Pacelli as associate athletic director for marketing and business affairs. Pacelli was Eastern College Athletic Conference director of Division III Governance.

Samford University hired Martin Newton as athletic director. Newton is University of Kentucky director of men’s basketball operations.

The American Drag Racing League hired Karen Holschlag as director of sponsorship development.

and Soccer United Marketing hired Andrew Chek as retail development manager for consumer products and Tricia Butler as account executive for MLS Digital Properties.

Korrio hired Brad Hefta-Gaub as chief technology officer, Tim Bauman as vice president of sales and Daniel Jackson as director of business development.

Federated Sports and Gaming named Matt Savage tournament director and Katherine Kowal vice president of league operations and programming and hired Joanne Priam as director of player relations.
