Media Notes: Report Says OTT, Pay-TV Revenues Combined Will Reach $283B By '22

Covering 138 countries, pay-TV revenues and OTT revenues combined will reach $283B by '22; up by 18% from $239B in '16, according to the OTT and Pay TV Forecasts report. OTT’s contribution to the revenue total will increase from 15% in '16 to 29% in '22. Its revenues "will more than double over this period." OTT revenues will represent 42% of the pay-TV total by '22, up from 18% in '16 (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 12/5).

Nielsen announced Nielsen Sports will expand its footprint in Africa with the acquisition of Repucom Africa, operated by TransAfrica Media. The acquisition strengthens Nielsen Sports' commitment to providing leagues, teams, federations, brands and agencies in emerging markets with solutions that optimize sports sponsorship portfolios and maximize investments in sports (Nielsen).
