Newcastle United Foundation Invites Public Consultation On Community Hub

The developers behind Newcastle United Foundation's proposed football-focused community hub are holding a public consultation later this month to "gather local feedback on the project," according to Jamie Hardesty of BDAILY. Earlier this year, the foundation unveiled proposals for a new sports and education facility on land "close to" the Premier League club's city center home. The multi-million pound development is set to include two sports halls, a football pitch and classrooms to deliver learning and training, "as well as a meeting and activity space for the wider community." U.K. planning and development consultancy Lichfields, along with the foundation and Ryder Architects, are holding the consultation event on Dec. 13 at The Core, in Science Central. Newcastle United Foundation Head Kate Bradley said, "This is not just about constructing a new building; it is about transforming lives, giving a community a new lease of life and changing it for the better, forever" (BDAILY, 12/5).
