Facility Notes: Bath Rugby Launches Plan To Redevelop Recreation Ground

Premiership Rugby side Bath "launched a new plan to redevelop its stadium" at the Recreation Ground. The club, which leases the ground from the Recreation Ground Trust, wants to increase capacity from 15,000 to 18,000 and "revamp the west stand and north terrace." The club said that it "hoped to appoint new architects" in '18 (BBC, 11/30).

Scottish Premiership side Rangers Chair Dave King said that the club board "spent significant funds of money" repairing a once "dilapidated" Ibrox Stadium. King said that he would not describe the work that has been carried out as "improving" the ground, but instead getting it "back to acceptable levels of standard." He hinted that Ibrox had been "allowed to fall into disrepair by previous regimes" (SCOTSMAN, 11/30).
