Marketplace Roundup: EFL, Thai Airways Partner For '17-18 Season

The English Football League announced Thai Airways as an official supporter. The new agreement will see Thai Airways have a digital and in-stadia presence at each of the five EFL finals to be held at Wembley throughout the '17-18 season. The partnership is a product of recent activity undertaken in Asia by the EFL (EFL).

The Champions League named Banco Santander an official sponsor from the start of the '18-19 season. The three-year agreement also includes the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League Finals and the UEFA Futsal Champions League Finals (UEFA).

Brasileiro side Corinthians renewed its partnership with beer brand Estrella Galicia until '21. The brewery will continue to have the logo of its alcohol-free product adorn the club's training kit, while also continuing to "run a series of fan-focused activations." The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed (SOCCEREX, 11/29).

La Liga side Real Betis signed an agreement with Costa Rican ecological company Green Earth to become its main sponsor for the '17-18 season. Green Earth's logo will be displayed on the front of the team's shirt (Real Betis).

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) renewed its partnership with telecom Altice until '24. The partnership includes support for all national men's and women's teams, futsal and beach football. Financial details were not revealed (TELECOMPAPER, 11/29).

The German FA (DFB) Academy announced software company SAP as an official sponsoring partner, with an initial three-year deal. The partnership will focus on joint innovation projects (SAP).

Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks announced a multi-year, mutually exclusive partnership with ROS Nutrition. The Irish sports and health company will become the club's official nutrition partner, and its logo will be featured on Sale Sharks' shorts (ABOUT MANCHESTER, 11/29).

The Scottish FA announced a two-year partnership with sports website company Pitchero as its official grassroots partner. Pitchero will offer football coaching support as an official SFA Coach Education Level 1 and 2 sponsor and provide its digital technology to more than 2,000 clubs (Scottish FA).

Super League rugby side Widnes Vikings announced a primary club partnership deal with the U.K. National Health Service for the '18 season. The club will create a brand called "Beat The Scrum," which will be used to raise awareness of how people can lead healthier lifestyles (Widnes Vikings).

The men's European Handball Federation Euro 2018 signed supermarket chain Lidl as an official sponsor. The deal was brokered by Infront Sports & Media. Lidl's rights package comprises the positioning of floor stickers on the courts at each game and advertising on all perimeter LED boards (Infront).

The ASEAN Football Federation renewed its deal with Suzuki Motor Corporation, making the company its title sponsor for the 2018 AFF Football Championship (AFF).
