Everton's main shirt partner, SportPesa, landed itself in "another social media farce after posting the infamous video of Sam Allardyce on the dance floor ahead of his arrival at Goodison Park," according to Alex Martin of the London DAILY MAIL. The former England manager is "set to take charge" of Everton after agreeing to a £6M ($8M)-a-year contract. Responding to the news, SportPesa's official U.K. Twitter account "re-posted a popular video of Allardyce dancing and appeared to suggest" Everton was a "hopeless place," in reference to the Rihanna song he was "filmed dancing to." The tweet, "which was soon deleted," read, "Sam Allardyce is set to become the new Everton manager! Talk about finding love in a hopeless place..." Not only will the incoming Everton manager be "unimpressed with the reminder of this embarrassing moment, but Goodison Park chiefs will also be angry" with the fact that the team's main sponsor described it as a "hopeless place," albeit in "pun form." It is "not the first time the Kenyan betting company has fallen foul since becoming the club's main shirt sponsor last summer." In October, it was "forced to issue an apology to fans after appearing to celebrate Arsenal's 5-2 win" over Everton (DAILY MAIL, 11/29).
