Finance Notes: Patrick Hogan Announces Sale Of Cambridge Stud

Horse breeder Patrick Hogan announced the sale of his "famous" Cambridge Stud in New Zealand. The farm will "remain in local hands," with Auckland businessman Brendan Lindsay and his wife, Jo, to "assume control in April." Hogan, 78, said that he has "no intentions to retire and has interests in more than 40 racehorses." He said, "In answer to the undoubted question of my retirement -- the answer is a firm no, that is not on my agenda" (AAP, 11/28).

Sports Direct is understood to be the "frontrunner" to buy Brixton Village and Market Row. The grade II listed arcades are "home to 140 retailers and restaurants and are renowned for their range of foods." Brixton Village and Market Row is owned by London & Associated Properties. No deal has been completed and "it is thought that if one does go ahead, the purchase is likely to be made via a vehicle linked with the Sports Direct company" rather than by Owner Mike Ashley personally (LONDON TIMES, 11/29).
