Franchise Notes: Bayern Munich Survey Reveals Supporters In All 50 U.S. States

Bundesliga side Bayern Munich's first official fan survey in North America showed that the club has fans in all 50 states in the U.S. Of the respondents, 43% are aged under 25 years and 18% are female. The most common reason given for following the club was favorite players being on the team, followed by the style of play, historical success and fans' German roots (Bayern Munich).

League One side Millwall's fight to stop land around The Den from being sold to property developers "suffered a major blow" after an independent inquiry cleared Lewisham Council of "any wrongdoing surrounding its plans for a proposed compulsory purchase order." The inquiry rejected all the criticisms of the council's plans to seize the land and sell it to offshore developer Renewal. Millwall said that those plans "threatened to evict" it from The Den, and the club accused the council of trying to force it out of its "historic home" (London EVENING STANDARD, 11/28).

Championship Rugby side Oldham Roughyeds had a winding up petition by U.K. tax authority HMRC dismissed by the High Court after paying a tax bill. The initial petition was lodged in October, but lawyers representing HMRC told Registrar Clive Jones on Monday that the bill had "been settled." No details of the extent of the legal fees were disclosed (BBC, 11/27).
