JEAN TODT is "sure to be re-elected" for a third term as president of Formula 1's governing body after FIA said on Wednesday that "no other candidates were standing." The 71-year-old Frenchman took over from MAX MOSLEY in '09 and won a second four-year term in '13 (REUTERS, 11/22). ... Fans of Egyptian football side Zamalek are "unhappy" that MORTADA MONSOUR was re-elected as president of the club. Zamalek has teams "competing at the highest level in several sports" such as football, basketball and handball, and is also a "social club with paying members." On Saturday, those members re-elected Mansour for a second four-year term. However, fans of the football club, the majority of whom are "not eligible to vote," were "hoping for a change" (BBC, 11/26). ... Serie B elected Commissioner MAURO BALATA to the post of president. The union of Serie B clubs had been "placed under a commissioner" by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) after failing to agree on a new president in September (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 11/23). ... At least a third of the members of the World Rugby Council "will be women from next year," the sport’s governing body announced on Thursday as "part of a push to further gender equality at all levels" of the organization. World Rugby said that it would "boost the number of seats on the decision-making body to 49 from 32, with all additional positions going to women" (REUTERS, 11/23). ... Horse & Country announced changes to its int'l distribution team. Dir of Int'l Distribution WAYNE DUNSFORD will leave the company next month, handing over responsibility for network development to pay-TV industry exec SUSAN ELKINGTON. She will assume responsibility for the ongoing int'l expansion of the channel and the development of the network across multiple platforms (H&C).
