Olympic Channel To Focus On Shoulder Programming For PyeongChang

The four-month-old Olympic Channel is not going to carry live competitions from South Korea next year, but it will cover the PyeongChang Games with news, highlights and shoulder programming as a way to complement NBCUniversal’s Olympic offerings. NBC Sports Group on Monday released the channel’s full schedule, which will be dominated by studio programming such as “Winter Olympics Daily,” a 30-minute show hosted by NBC veteran Jimmy Roberts. All told, the channel will program news, highlights and features for 20 hours a day via the Olympic Channel News Service. It also will show live coverage from every medal ceremony from Feb. 10-24.
