League Notes: Sharing Gate Receipts Not Long-Term Solution To SRU Crisis, Pichot Says

World Rugby Vice-Chair Agustín Pichot said that sharing gate receipts from autumn internationals "is not the long-term solution to the Samoan rugby crisis." The Samoa Rugby Union announced last week it was bankrupt (BBC, 11/10).

The prospect of Hong Kong having a team in Andrew Forrest’s Indo-Pacific Rugby Championship "is gathering steam after officials from the competition visited the territory this week." The IPRC "could also feature a women's competition and even sevens." HK Rugby Union CEO Robbie McRobbie labeled the concept "very positive" and believes it could be "a vehicle to bring top quality Hong Kong-eligible players back to the territory" (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 11/11).
