Motorsport Network continued its expansion with three exec appointments in the U.K. Former Autosport Editor-in-Chief ANDREW VAN DE BURGT returned to the role -- now overseeing Autosport, Formula 1 Racing and Motorsport News titles. Van de Burgt joins Motorsport Network from his senior role with Formula E. Motorsport Network's new VP of business development & innovation, IAN NOLAN, joins the group after a career in sports marketing. He was COO of Dugout Sports and previously oversaw Yahoo's fantasy sports products. Former McLaren Special Operations, Head of Operations BEN STREET joined Motorsport Network's Amalgam Collection as CEO (Motorsport Network). ... GREG NICOL extended his role as Hockey New Zealand's national athlete pathway manager for the next three years. Nicol recently oversaw a "successful six-month pilot of the newly created role," which will lead Hockey NZ's "approach to identifying and developing high potential players" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 11/2). ... The British Gymnastics Foundation announced three-time world champion BETH TWEDDLE as the ambassador of its Hardship Grants program, which provides financial assistance to British Gymnastics members to help them to continue participating (British Gymnastics).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Croatian first division football club Hajduk Split on Monday announced it sacked Manager JOAN CARRILLO "after a series of bad results." Carrillo had been in the position for 10 months (AS, 11/6). ... Championship Rugby side London Broncos promoted DANNY WARD to head coach. The former Leeds player was assistant to ANDREW HENDERSON, who left the club at the end of the '17 season to become right-hand man to STEVE PRICE at Warrington (SKY SPORTS, 11/6). ... CLAUDE MAKELELE was appointed manager of "struggling" Belgian side Eupen after leaving his position as an assistant coach at EPL side Swansea City. The former France int'l worked as an assistant coach at Paris St. Germain before a "brief, unsuccessful stint" as head coach at Ligue 1 side Bastia during the '14-15 season (ESPN.com, 11/6). ... FABIO CANNAVARO quit as head coach of Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian, "paving the way for a possible return" to seven-time champion Guangzhou Evergrande. Tianjin announced on Monday Cannavaro's resignation was accepted by the club and former Sampdoria and Queens Park Rangers head coach PAULO SOUSA was appointed as his replacement (ESPN.com, 11/6).
