Franchise Notes: Former Swansea City Directors Get Day In Court

Two former EPL side Swansea City directors have been "given a court date for their unfair dismissal claim against the club." Former Legal Dir Steve Penny and former Finance Dir Don Keefe left the club in '16 "following Americans Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan's takeover." The Wales Employment Tribunal hearing will be held at Cardiff and the Vale Magistrates Court on Dec. 8. Swansea declined to comment (BBC, 10/30).

Players from Chinese third division side Meixian Techand secured a "huge payday after securing promotion" to League One. As a reward, the squad was "endowed with a bonus pool" of 20M yuan ($3M) after beating Shenzhen Ledman in the playoffs on Sunday. Meixian "came close to winning promotion last season after going unbeaten throughout the regular campaign only to lose in the playoffs" (ESPN.com, 10/31).

Croatian First Football League side Dinamo Zagreb signed a strategic partnership with China's Chengdu Sports Industry. The state-run company focuses on organizing sporting events and constructing infrastructure projects. The partnership involves the Dinamo Youth Academy organizing football camps in China and Dinamo youth players participating in friendly matches and tournaments in China (Dinamo Zagreb).
