Napoli Bans Belts From Its Stadium For Champions League Match Against Man City

Serie A side Napoli "banned belts" from its stadium for its Champions League clash with Man City on Wednesday, according to Mike Keegan of the London DAILY MAIL. Traveling Man City supporters heading to the Group F fixture "will not be allowed to take the clothing item into the Stadio San Paolo." The "unusual move comes after belt-waving Napoli hooligans wreaked havoc" at a Man City pub before the first match between the two sides on Oct. 17, which the home side won 2-1. Man City Supporters Club General Secretary Kevin Parker branded the decision "ridiculous." He said, "It's absolutely crazy. I know they have had issues with Napoli fans using belts as weapons but since when has that been a thing in England? Why, all of a sudden, should City fans be banned?" (DAILY MAIL, 10/30).
