Football Notes: Eniola Aluko Receives Second Half Of £80,000 From FA

Chelsea Ladies striker Eniola Aluko received the second half of her £80,000 ($105,674) settlement fee from the FA. The fee was agreed in March after an investigation initially cleared former England women's football Manager Mark Sampson of making "racially discriminatory remarks" to Aluko (BBC, 10/26).

Bundesliga side Cologne was fined £53,000 ($70,000) after crowd trouble "marred" its Europa League group match at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium in September. Kickoff was delayed by an hour after "thousands of ticketless Cologne supporters arrived at the stadium." Cologne was issued four charges by UEFA, "including crowd disturbances and the setting off of fireworks" (BBC, 10/30).

Reports suggest Serie A side AC Milan’s meeting with UEFA over Financial Fair Play has been set for Nov. 9. The meeting was due to be held over the summer, "but time constraints meant it was pushed back to the autumn." Club CEO Marco Fassone and his board have been "asked to present their voluntary agreement early next month" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 10/30).
