U.S.-Based Data Firm Stats To Open Office In Limerick, Ireland, Create 100 Jobs By '20

U.S. sports data company Stats will open its European, Middle Eastern and African HQ in Limerick, creating over 100 jobs by '20, according to Kelpie & Donnelly of the IRISH INDEPENDENT. The Chicago-based company -- which serves more than 800 teams, leagues and brands -- said that the selection of Limerick as its new regional base "will help it develop the next generation of sports technology products." Limerick, Ireland's "City of Sport" will serve as a hub for all aspects of business for Stats, which has hired SportsTech Ireland co-Founder Grainne Barry as its regional operations director. She will continue to work with SportsTech Ireland to "grow the development of sports tech companies on the island." Stats will set up a temporary location in Limerick "while it looks for a more permanent office." Once this is "up and running, it will then start building up -- with a target of recruiting 60 staff by the end of next year," and more than 100 by '20 (IRISH INDEPENDENT, 10/3).
