Marketplace Roundup: Grupo DIA Named Title Sponsor Of Spanish Women's Hoops League

The Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) announced a two-year deal that will see supermarket chain Grupo DIA become the title sponsor of Spain's women's basketball league. The league will be known as the Liga Dia and will be broadcast by Teledeporte and TVE (EP, 9/26).

The NFL Jacksonville Jaguars announced Lycamobile as its official U.K. founding partner and mobile network. The mobile virtual network operator signed a multi-year partnership to "break into the American market and boost its customer base in the U.K." Lycamobile will work with the Jaguars on a competition for fans to win tickets to games at Wembley or Everbank Field in '18 as well as "activities for fans to take part in during home games" (MOBILE NEWS, 9/26).

Premiership Rugby side Sale Sharks announced a sponsorship deal with property agency homes4u. The Manchester-based company agreed to sponsor player Tom Curry and renewed its existing partnership with the club. The homes4u brand will be associated with Curry throughout the '17-18 season (BDAILY, 9/26).

Bundesliga side Cologne agreed to a partnership with clothes retailer KiK for the '17-18 season. The agreement will see the company "gain a strong brand presence" at the club’s RheinEnergieStadion on two 3D Cam Carpets, the technology that paints an image onto the grass to appear three-dimensional on screen. The deal is "believed to be worth a low six-digit figure" (SOCCEREX, 9/26).

Brasileiro side Botafogo announced a commercial agreement with credit card company Valle Express. The Brazilian firm "will have a strong brand presence through Botafogo’s various social media and digital platforms, as well as at the team's training ground" (SOCCEREX, 9/26).

South African Premier Soccer League side Orlando Pirates announced a sponsorship deal with Ford South Africa. The club confirmed the news on its Twitter account (SUPER SPORT, 9/26).

The Rugby Football Union signed a partnership with Karma Resorts to become an official supplier to England Sevens Rugby for the '17-18 season. The deal includes the World Rugby Sevens Series, the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, a training camp at Karma in Bali and the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco (Karma Resorts). 

The Basketball Bundesliga announced Simba Dickie Group as an official "fun and family partner" (BBL). 

The Int'l Paralympic Committee announced DB Schenker extended its agreement to provide logistics, courier services, freight forwarding and customs clearance services for IPC events through '20 (IPC).
