KENNETH FOK was elected president of the Asian Electronic Sports Federation, replacing Kazakhstan's NATALYA SIPOVICH. Fok, VP of Hong Kong's Sports Federation & Olympic Committee and a member of the Olympic Council of Asia's int'l relations committee, was elected unopposed and promised to take esports in Asia "to new heights" (REUTERS, 9/19). ... Russia regained its place on the FIFA Council when ALEXEI SOROKIN was elected as "one of the decision-making panel's European members" on Wednesday. Sorokin, the CEO of the organizing commitee for the 2018 World Cup, was elected "by acclamation" at an extraordinary UEFA Congress. He was the only candidate (REUTERS, 9/20). ... Australian Football League side Geelong Cats appointed SIMON LLOYD as GM, football. He will take up the role at the conclusion of the '17 season. Lloyd has spent the past two seasons as the club's director of coaching (Geelong Cats). ... Monumental Sports & Entertainment named Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Dir of Global Partnerships PATSY COYLE VP/global partnership retention (THE DAILY)

COACHES/MANAGERS: Liga MX side Santos Laguna announced ROBERT DANTE SIBOLDI will coach the club for the rest of the current season. Siboldi, who served as Santos Laguna's interim coach for one game in '15, replaces JOSÉ MANUEL DE LA TORRE (LA AFICIÓN, 9/18). ... Argentine first division side Estudiantes coach GUSTAVO MATOSAS resigned after his team was eliminated from the Copa Sudamericana. Matosas was hired by Estudiantes on June 20 (DPA, 9/20).
