Betting Operator Betway To Sponsor 2017 ESG Tour Esports Event In Mykonos

Online betting operator Betway is "continuing its backing of esports competitions" with a deal to sponsor the Mykonos leg of the 2017 ESG Tour, according to GAMING INTELLIGENCE. The event will take place from Thursday-Sunday at the Destiny Villa private resort on the Greek island, "with eight of the world's top CS:GO teams competing" for a €200,000 ($237,952) prize. As a backer of the event, Betway has naming rights and "will provide live odds updates during the tournament broadcast." The ESG Tour is organized by PvPRO, a tournament organizer that "maintains an online platform to facilitate multiplayer events." Having launched an esports microsite in '15, Betway has "backed a number of events in sport." Its "highest-profile deal to date saw it back" the ESL Pro League 2017, the longest-running CS:GO competition in the sector (GAMING INTELLIGENCE, 9/5).
