Franchise Notes: McLaren F1 May Have To Stay With Honda Next Season

The McLaren Formula 1 team "may have no choice but to stay with Honda next season" after the Japanese manufacturer played down talk of a switch to Toro Rosso and Renault said that "supplying more than three teams would hurt their current partners." Honda is "keen to continue with McLaren," which is "running out of patience after three season of poor reliability and under-powered engines" (REUTERS, 8/25).

League Championship side Millwall CEO Steve Kavanagh said that the club "may relocate" if it is forced to sell land near its stadium. A review is being carried out into Lewisham Council plans to use a compulsory purchase order "to buy land surrounding the Den in Bermondsey." Kavanagh said, "I was asked in the event the CPO went through would we not move, and I said, 'We'd have to consider everything,' and that still is the case" (BBC, 8/26).
