Franchise Notes: Cellino Completes Takeover Of Serie B Side Brescia

Former Serie A side Cagliari Owner Massimo Cellino officially completed his takeover of Serie B club Brescia. On Thursday, a statement on the club's official website said, "Brescia Calcio announces that today the agreement has been finalised." Cellino was president of Cagliari from '92-14, and became known as "mangia-allenatori," or "the manager-eater," for his repeated hirings and firings (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 8/10).

Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F repainted its whole stadium gold to "bring better luck following a dismal run -- and this week duly celebrated a fifth big home win on the bounce." The club last month took the "drastic action" believing that gold made for "better feng shui" than blue, the color of the team's strip (AFP, 8/10).
