Facility Notes: League One Side Bristol Rovers To Stay At Memorial Stadium

League One side Bristol Rovers "plan to remain" at Memorial Stadium for the long-term, club Owner Wael al-Qadi confirmed. After abandoning plans for a new ground at the University of West of England last week, al-Qadi said that the club will "now look to redevelop" its current ground. The club previously hoped to build a new 21,000-capacity venue (BBC, 8/9).

Edinburgh investment company Blue Thistle wants to raise £10M ($13M) to "lift the standard of the Musselburgh Old Course Golf Club" -- the oldest continuously played golf course in the world -- and "promote its heritage to a much wider audience." Blue Thistle representative Dominique von Prondzynski "faces a battle." The club, made up of 100 local members, is "opposed to the development plans" (LONDON TIMES, 8/10).

Homeowners living in the areas surrounding White Hart Lane have seen their property prices rise by a "staggering" 655% over the past 20 years, according to new data. The average home value has risen from £59,638 in '97 to £450,104 ($584,235) today. Figures collated by Halifax using Land Registry data show that Tottenham is the winner "when it comes to house price growth," while West Ham, Chelsea and Watford have "also seen a surge in local property prices over the past two decades" (London TELEGRAPH, 8/10).
