Media Notes: France 2 Draws 4.4 Million To World Athletics Championships Broadcast

France 2 drew an average audience of 4.4 million viewers (23.7% market share) to its broadcast of the World Athletics Championships on Tuesday. The 800m final, which Frenchman Pierre-Ambroise Bosse won, drew a peak audience of 5.6 million (L’ÉQUIPE, 8/9).

TalkSPORT is considering axing Alan Brazil from the flagship radio breakfast show that takes his name "after a drastic drop in audience figures." The move being discussed by station execs "would see their iconic presenter moved to weekends and Sky's Soccer Saturday host Jeff Stelling taking the hot seat." Stelling "would share the role with regular talkSPORT broadcaster Danny Kelly" (London DAILY MAIL, 8/8).

WWE and Canal 1 announced an agreement to broadcast WWE's Raw and SmackDown in Colombia beginning Aug. 19. Every Saturday at 3pm, Canal 1 will show a one-hour edition of Raw followed by a one-hour edition of SmackDown, both with Spanish commentary (WWE).

Ascenso MX side Juárez reached an exclusive multi-year multimedia agreement with ESPN Int'l, which will carry the team's home matches throughout Latin America. ESPN Int'l will have the rights to air all of Juárez's home Ascenso MX matches and friendlies across TV and digital platforms in Latin America (ESPN).
