Chinese Volleyball Association Partners With Tencent, Peak Sports

The Chinese Volleyball Association and streaming platform Tencent jointly announced Tencent Sports as a new partner of the China women's national volleyball team, "while its wholly-owned subsidiary company, Yingde Sports, bagged the exclusive business operation rights" of the squad, according to Nong Ruowen of YUTANG SPORTS. Tencent Sports and Yingde Sports will conduct an overall marketing and business operations campaign for the team, making it the first time the Olympic champion has "empowered a third-party organization" to operate its business rights. Tencent will "deliver overall information of the volleyball team by leveraging" its mobile platforms and terminals, including Tencent Sports, Tencent News, Tencent Video, kb.qq.com and live.qq.com, "while also using Chinese social media platforms WeChat and Tencent QQ" (YUTANG SPORTS, 8/7).

PEAK SEASON: Ruowen also reported the CVA announced Peak Sports as "the official sponsor and the new exclusive equipment partner of the Chinese Volleyball League." Every player on all 28 teams competing in the men's and women's league, as well as staff and officials of the league, will be "equipped with Peak Sport's products" in the regular league and all-star games. Peak Sports will also "work closely with Volleyball World to design more volleyball-related products and apparel for Chinese volleyball fans." The pair will "cooperate to promote the sport of volleyball in Chinese schools and campuses" (YUTANG SPORTS, 8/9).
