Betting firm Paddy Power Betfair CEO BREON CORCORAN will "step down" only 18 months after the company was created in a £6B merger. Corcoran will be replaced by PETER JACKSON, the CEO of the U.K. business of Worldpay, "Britain's biggest plastic card payments processor." Jackson, 41, has been in his current role for "only six months" (LONDON TIMES, 8/7). ... Discovery Communications CCO PAUL GUYARDO will serve as CEO and chair of TEN: A Discovery Communications Company's board of directors in addition to his current responsibilities. Leading the new venture will be TEN President SCOTT DICKEY and BOB SCANLON, who will be appointed president of Velocity and TEN Video Content (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 8/5).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Italy national ice hockey team head coach STEPHAN MAIR resigned despite two more years on his contract, stating discrepancies with the Italian Ice Sports Federation. The news came after Mair had been behind the bench of the Italian national team in three exhibition games against Kontinental Hockey League clubs that all ended in defeat (IIHF). ... Brasileiro side Flamengo sacked coach ZÉ RICARDO. He was hired by the club last May. Flamengo is currently in fifth place in the league, but 18 points behind first-place club Corinthians (MARCA, 8/7).
