Marketplace Roundup: Gold Coast 2018 Partners With Moreton Hire

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corp. appointed Queensland-based event specialist Moreton Hire as the Games' official marquee and temporary structures supplier. The company will be responsible for delivering the marquee and temporary structures including ventilation and air-conditioning, fire equipment, stairs, flooring and lighting across 42 competition and non-competition venues (Gold Coast 2018).

Swimwear specialist Speedo launched an online audience participation platform in partnership with Mediablaze "in an effort to get members' competitive juices flowing with challenges designed to track individual performance against peers." Speedo On will "add some vim to the drudgery of a weekly fitness regime by serving up a regular diet of tips, motivation and suggestions" for water and dry land (THE DRUM, 8/1).

The Sports Journalists Association of Kenya and pay-TV company StarTimes on Monday unveiled a one-year partnership which "will see them select and award the country's best performing sportsman every month, beginning with July." The winner of the award will receive 100,000 Kenyan shillings ($962.74) "and a Digital StarTimes TV." Focus will be on "all sports disciplines excluding football which already has another player of the month award sponsored by betting firm Sportpesa" (CAPITAL FM, 7/31).
