Franchise Notes: Welsh Rugby Side Pyle May Fold Due To Lack Of Players

Welsh Rugby Union side Pyle, with a "proud history of punching above its weight" to produce Wales and British & Irish Lions players, "could be forced to fold," after having just three players training this summer. Pyle is due to kickoff its Division Three West Central A season at home against Swansea Uplands on Sept. 2, but has "taken to social media" to reveal its "current plight in raising a team" (WALES ONLINE, 8/1).

A planned design for a League Championship side Leeds United mural on the approach to its Elland Road ground has been unveiled. The Leeds United Supporters' Trust raised £4,400 ($5,810) to "fund a wall design on the M621 underpass on Lowfields Road." A competition to design the mural "was won by Jameson Rogan, a Leeds-based designer, illustrator and muralist" (BBC, 8/1).
