Sky commentator and former England cricketer PAUL ALLOTT is "poised" to become Lancashire County Cricket Club's director of cricket. The 60-year-old, who played for Lancashire from '78-92 and won 13 Test caps, is "understood to have reached in‑principle agreement for the role and is expected to leave Sky, where he has worked as a pundit, analyst and presenter of Cricket Writers on TV for the past two decades" (London GUARDIAN, 7/30). ... The Sport Integrity Global Alliance General Assembly unanimously approved the appointment of FRANCO FRATTINI, justice & chamber president to the Italian Supreme Administrative Court, as SIGA's independent chair. Frattini will serve as SIGA chair for a four-year term "beginning with immediate effect" (AROUND THE RINGS, 7/27). ... Univision promoted Exec VP/Ad Sales STEVEN MANDALA to president of ad sales & marketing, effective immediately. He will "oversee advertising sales and marketing" for the company's media outlets, including Univison Deportes. He will report to Univision CRO TONIA O'CONNOR (VARIETY, 7/27). ... The Sports Consultancy general counsel ASHLEY BLAKE will head standalone, regulated legal practice The Sports Consultancy Legal, which launched on Thursday (The Sports Consultancy). ... J.League side Urawa Reds terminated the contract of Manager MIHAILO PETROVIĆ "following a poor run of results." The announcement came a day after the club "slumped to a 2-0 defeat away to lowly Consadole Sapporo," its eighth loss in the last 12 games. Coach TAKAFUMI HORI, 49, will take over first-team managerial duties (KYODO, 7/30).
