Marketplace Roundup: Bayern Munich Expands Partnership With DHL

Bayern Munich and DHL announced the expansion of their cooperation with innovative activations within the video game market, specifically in the FIFA 18 game set to launch in September. This is DHL's bid to "tap on the massive potential of the computer games market," which analysts predict will grow its revenue from $493M in '16 to $1.1B in '19 (DHL).

Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund announced a regional partnership with Chinese non-docking bike-sharing company Ofo. The club will collaborate with Ofo on commercial projects and activations in China (SOCCEREX, 7/19).

The IPC announced German company DB Schenker extended its agreement to provide logistics, freight forwarding and customs clearance services for IPC events, including the Paralympic Games, through '20. DB Schenker will support the IPC for the PyeongChang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and other events, while the IPC will look to offer DB Schenker's services to local organizing committees, broadcasters and IPC members (IPC). 

Morrisons at Wimbledon has been rebranded as "Murriwins" to "celebrate Jamie Murray's doubles victory" at Wimbledon this year. Murray and doubles partner Martina Hingis won in the mixed doubles final against Heather Watson and Henri Kontinen (SCOTSMAN, 7/19).

Serie A reached an agreement with Master Group Sport for the organization of the 2017 Italian Super Cup. The Italian sport marketing agency acquired the publicity, corporate hospitality and public relations rights for this year's match, which pits Juventus against Lazio (SOCCEREX, 7/19).

A-League side Sydney FC renewed its deal with technical partner Hitec Drainage for two seasons. The Hitec Drainage logo will appear on all coaches' apparel and around the Sky Blues technical area at home games until the end of the '18-19 season (Sydney FC). 

Film actor Kamal Haasan has been appointed brand icon of Pro Kabaddi League franchise Tamil Thalaivas, which is co-owned by former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (PTI, 7/19).
