Marketplace Roundup: Chivas Guadalajara, AT&T Fail To Reach Agreement

Liga MX side Chivas Guadalajara and AT&T "did not reach an agreement for AT&T to receive a presence on the front of the Chivas shirt." Execs from the club and the telecom met in Dallas "seeking a shirt deal starting with the upcoming season." But "the difference between the offer from AT&T and what Chivas was expecting was immense" (MILENIO DIGITAL, 7/17).

Premier League side Crystal Palace announced a multi-year deal with Chinese football app Dongqiudi as its first shirt sleeve sponsor. Dongqiudi's logo will be featured on the left sleeve of the club's shirts. Crystal Palace will wear a special-edition kit during the Premier League Asia Trophy with Dongqiudi on the front of the shirt (Crystal Palace).

League Championship side Preston North End agreed to a sponsorship deal with online betting company Tempobet. The Tempobet logo will appear on the first-team shirts and adult replica shirts for the '17-18 season. Due to the "rules surrounding gambling advertising," junior replica shirts and PNE's youth team kits will carry the Preston North End Community & Education Trust’s logo (LANCASHIRE EVENING POST, 7/17).

League Championship side Bolton Wanderers announced electronics supplier The TVD Group will continue as the club's official "back of shirt" sponsor through the '17-18 season with its Mitchell & Brown LED TV range (Bolton Wanderers).

Bundesliga side RB Leipzig announced real estate company CG Gruppe will be its sleeve sponsor from the start of the '17-18 season. CG Gruppe will also have a "strong brand presence" on the club's digital and social media platforms and through pitchside LED boards at the Red Bull Arena. Terms were not released. According to German publication SPONSORs, RB Leipzig "could expect to receive up" to €8M ($9.25M) per year (SOCCEREX, 7/18).

The German FA (DFB) signed a 10-year contract with Wige Media. The collaboration, which was trialed in the second half of the '16-17 Bayernligen North and South seasons, will "aim to strengthen the visibility" of amateur football throughout the country through an online platform called Sporttotal.tv (SOCCEREX, 7/18).

Barcelona announced coffee company Kopi Singa as a club sponsor until June '19. The parties will collaborate in producing co-branded coffee in Indonesia (Barcelona).

Australian Football League club Adelaide Crows announced a major partnership with global resources company BHP, which will support the Crows' AFL Women's team for the '18, '19 and '20 seasons. BHP will also work collaboratively with the Crows to support the club's grassroots and pathway development programs (Adelaide Crows).

Infront Sports & Media secured a sponsorship agreement with Unilever antiperspirant brand Rexona for the Turkish men's national basketball team and the FIBA EuroBasket 2017. The tournament will take place from Aug. 31-Sept. 17 in Finland, Israel, Romania and Turkey (Infront).

Chelsea announced Ericsson as its connected venue partner. Ericsson will introduce free Wi-Fi coverage for supporters throughout Stamford Bridge (Chelsea).
