Marketplace Roundup: Bayern Munich Announces Hugo Boss As New Partner

Bayern Munich announced a partnership with fashion company Hugo Boss. The team will wear Hugo Boss for the first time this month when traveling to Asia for preseason fixtures. Created by the Boss design team, the official collection references the red and blue detailing of the club logo (Bayern Munich). 

Adidas "wiped out" Nike, winning six out of seven major European tournaments last season. The dominance in '16-17 appears to be "part of a trend," with adidas having "outscored Nike over the last five seasons by 16 titles to 15." The dominance of the two sportswear brands "at the top of the European football food chain" is emphasized by the "poor showing of other brands." Umbro and Puma have "only won four titles each over the 11-year period examined" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 7/13).
