Sources revealed the Ferrari Formula 1 team has "parted ways" with LORENZO SASSI, the chief engineer of its power unit. Although the Maranello, Italy-based outfit "refused to comment on the situation," a report in Italian newspaper Il Giornale said that Sassi's departure had been prompted following direct intervention from President SERGIO MARCHIONNE. It is unclear if he left the company completely, "or has been moved to another role" (MOTORSPORT, 7/6). ... League 1 rugby side London Skolars GM JAC DAVIES will "step down at the end of the season." Davies, who joined the club last summer, will stay on as director of the annual Capital Challenge event and lead the Skolars Foundation (RUNNING RUGBY, 7/6). ... Premiership rugby side Northampton Saints appointed LAURA TRINGHAM marketing manager. She has been with the club for a "number of years" and worked in the communications and corporate teams (RUNNING RUGBY, 7/6). ... W-League side Melbourne City announced former men's team captain and current development coach PATRICK KISNORBO as head coach for the '17-18 season. Kisnorbo assumed the role of interim assistant for the women's team in January, and will continue his current role as development coach (Melbourne City).
