Marketplace Roundup: La Liga Side Alavés Renews Shirt Deal With Shaving Brand LEA

La Liga side Alavés named local shaving brand LEA its shirt sponsor for the '17-18 season. The club signed LEA as a shirt sponsor at the end of the '16-17 season. The LEA logo will appear on the front of Alavés' shirts during La Liga and Copa del Rey matches (MARCA, 7/2).

AccorHotels announced French Olympic Judo champion Teddy Riner as brand ambassador. Riner signed a four-year contract with the hotel operator. He will participate in several “Money Can’t Buy” activations like meeting members of the “AccorHotels Club” (SPORTBUZZ BUSINESS, 7/3).

Top14 side Stade Toulousain announced a long-term partnership with Nike, which becomes the club’s official kit provider from the ’17-18 season. Nike takes over for BLK, which equipped the club for the past three seasons. (Stade Toulousain).

Football competition Star Sixes announced Umbro as its official kit supplier. Umbro designed the uniforms that will be worn by all 12 nations during the six-a-side tournament to be held at The O2 Arena in London from July 13-16 (Star Sixes).

Warwickshire County Cricket Club secured a two-year commercial partnership with Unibet to be its first official betting partner. Unibet will "have a presence and provide responsible betting opportunities" at Edgbaston Stadium for all home games in the T20 Blast, as well as on int'l match days. Unibet branding will appear on the collar of club playing shirts and on perimeter branding within the Edgbaston Stadium bowl (BQ LIVE, 7/3).

The Gaelic Athletic Association appointed telecom Ericsson as its official technology partner. Ericsson will advise the GAA on all IT-related matters and optimize mobile connectivity at Croke Park (GAA).

ManU unveiled its new home kit for the '17-18 season. The kit "pays homage" to the club's "classic designs from yesteryear but includes modern advances to ensure optimum performance," with breathable fabrics and mesh engineering allowing for improved movement. The shirt will be worn for the first time when ManU faces MLS side L.A. Galaxy on July 15 as part of its preseason tour of the U.S. (SKY SPORTS, 7/3).

Free-to-play prediction game Soccer Saturday Super 6 "struck a new long-term deal to become the shirt sponsor" of National League North side Salford City. The club, which recently announced its players and management will go full-time, "has enjoyed a rapid rise since being taken over by several members" of ManU's "Class of '92" at the beginning of the '14-15 season (SKY SPORTS, 7/2).

E-commerce company Rakuten announced that it will unify its global branding. The rebranding coincides with Rakuten's 20th anniversary and the launch of a new global partnership with Barcelona. The new global branding includes a bolder and more compact execution for the Rakuten corporate logo. The changes launched on Saturday (Rakuten).
