The All India Football Federation announced I-League clubs agreed to the "concurrent running of two leagues this season, a development which will set to rest the uncertainty prevalent in the domestic circuit at least for this year." The development came after the Asian Football Confederation gave "official recognition" to the Indian Super League by granting the next ISL champion an AFC Cup playoff slot. The winner of the I-league will "still participate in the AFC Champions League qualifiers" (PTI, 6/29).
The French Professional Football League (LFP) is “considering sanctioning clubs that do not fill their stands in camera view, via the TV rights allocated under the club license.” LFP Dir Didier Quillot said that he wanted to “tighten the criteria for a club license in the future.” La Liga implemented a similar scheme last August (L’ÉQUIPE, 6/29).
Tanzania Football Federation President Jamal Malinzi was "arrested by the country's Prevention & Combating of Corruption Bureau." He was detained along with TFF Secretary General Selestine Mwesigwa. The duo "were held overnight and face a second round of questioning on Thursday" (BBC, 6/29).
