The Welsh Rugby Union signed "the biggest shirt partnership deal in its history, with the logo of Isuzu to appear on the new kit launched in the autumn," according to Jon Doel of WALES ONLINE. The Japanese motor company will replace insurance company Admiral as the main sponsor of the senior national side. The new kit will be released in October and worn for the first time as Manager Warren Gatland's side faces Australia, Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa in the Under Armour Series at Principality Stadium. In addition, the multi-million pound partnership "sees Isuzu sponsor the senior Wales women's side," which will carry the logos on its playing kit until '21. The automaker will also supply Isuzu D-Max vehicles to the WRU’s community department. Admiral will become the shirt sponsor of the Wales int'l sevens side and the national U18 and U20 teams, also until '21. The WRU did not release exact figures for the deals but said that the combined partnership is its "biggest ever in financial terms." WRU CEO Martyn Phillips said, "In terms of the Isuzu partnership alone, this is the biggest national jersey partnership in the history of our national game" (WALES ONLINE, 6/26).
