Palermo Sale To Paul Baccaglini, Integras Capital To Be Completed By June 30

Italian football side Palermo announced the sale of the club to Paul Baccaglini "will take place by June 30," according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. Owner Maurizio Zamparini agreed to a deal to sell the club to Baccaglini and his backers, Integras Capital. Despite the deal being announced in February and Zamparini stepping down as president, the deal has not yet been completed. A club statement said, "Today there was a meeting between the President of Palermo, Paul Baccaglini, and the current owner Maurizio Zamparini. Together they have ratified the agreement which has been in place for some time" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/20). The AP reported Palermo finished next-to-last in Serie A last month and will drop down to Serie B for next season. Having grown up in the U.S., Baccaglini "moved to Italy to pursue a basketball career and then became known as an Italian TV personality" (AP, 6/20)
